River is dissatisfied with her appearance, the Doctor disagrees.
River was scowling into the mirror.
The Doctor walked up beside her and stared from her into the mirror. He couldn't see what she was scowling at.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"I hate my nose," she said, glowering.
His eyebrows popped up. He looked from her, to the mirror and back to her, to her nose, her perfect, strong, River nose.
"No, you don't hate your nose, it's a perfectly good nose."
She glared at him. "I've got Rory's nose," she said flatly.
He tried to prevent the grin that pulled at his mouth. He bit his lip. "You don't, really," he said. "Rory's got a long, thin, snooty nose." He tilted his head up in an approximation of Rory's snooty nose.
River swallowed a chuckle.
The Doctor grinned at her. "What you don't like, is this little bump right here." He leaned forward and gently kissed the bump in the center of her nose.
"This is my kissy bump," he said. He leaned forward and kissed it again. "I love this bump. It's the perfect bump in my wife's perfect nose."
He gave her a pouty little adorable look. "And you're mad because it's not a bland little average nose?" He huffed. Then he looked at the bump on her nose again, going almost cross-eyed, and leaned forward and kissed it again.
She wrestled down the smile that wrung her lips, her eyes getting a little teary. She swatted him ineffectually on the shoulder. "You're ridiculous."
She plopped her head down on his shoulder and hid the smile that bloomed on her face. He nestled his chin in the curls on top of her head and huffed.
"I'm not the one who wants to get rid of my wife's beautiful kissy bump." He hugged her tight. "Who ever said bland was beautiful anyway?"

The old man still looked up at the sky. Every night, when he had the chance, he would wrap up warm and take a flask of hot tea out to the seat beside his telescope. It was an act of tribute now. He had long since let go of the idle fancy that he would ever see that man, that most wonderful man again. Sometimes it was a truly bitter memory, another friend lost to war, and how he hoped that the poor creature, that ancient blazing angel had been wrong. Perhaps he was out there somewhere, fully recovered, too embarrassed to return. Too afraid?
Wilfred knew it was still dangerous. His granddaughter visited often, particularly when his bungalow wa

In Another Universe
The Ood watched as the Doctor pulled himself back into the TARDIS, the golden glow of regeneration energy sparkled by his hands. He always thought regeneration was so beautiful for what it was -- dying. The bursts of light were just another way to feel pain. Another body coming to take the only thing he had left.
"I bet you're going to have a great year" still lingered in the back of his mind, as he thought of all the times Rose had yet to come. All the trips in the TARDIS, all the adventures, the danger that she seemed so addicted to. He knew somewhere that she was happy in another universe, possibly married to the "other" doctor.

"Doctor."
The ghost spoke softly from the spacesuit's communicator as the timelord looked on. He stared at the empty shell now slumped in the silver chair, what had once been that brilliant, mysterious woman. She had known his name and she had saved his life. She had known his name and it was whispering now out of the data trapped in the suit's neural relay. All he could do was watch, handcuffed to one of the computer's metal supports, neither able to reach his sonic screwdriver nor the modified one that had belonged to Professor River Song.
Her voice continued to trickle into the room, though her lips did not move; eyelids closed in endles
